RIP....

foss.in : that too comes to an end... How we used to yearn for this one event... all those BoFs, unconferencing, hack sessions, and obo the main sessions... will defn miss that.. looks like an end of an era for many people.. Was just speaking to Dennis the other day about it...

So much in life too is changing... Don't know if I have the required escape velocity... Reminds me of Kahlil Gibran's quote..

"Verily the lust for comfort murders the passion of the soul,
and then walks grinning in the funeral"...

or if it is aversion to change.. reminds of t3's pic.. "How Gopal got pissed, gave up and got a life..."... am too at that critical junction..

And he goes on..

" But you, children of space, you restless in rest,
you shall not be trapped nor tamed.
Your house shall be not an anchor but a mast.
It shall not be a glistening film that covers a wound,
but an eyelid that guards the eye.
You shall not fold your wings that you may pass through doors,
nor bend your heads that they strike not against a ceiling,
nor fear to breathe lest walls should crack and fall down.

You shall not dwell in tombs made by the dead for the living.
And though of magnificence and splendour,
your house shall not hold your secret nor shelter your longing.
For that which is boundless in you abides in the mansion of the sky,
whose door is the morning mist, and whose windows are the songs and the silences of night."

and then Jerome K. Jerome states in "THE IDLE THOUGHTS OF AN IDLE FELLOW. "

" Ah, those foolish days,
those foolish days when we were unselfish and pure-minded;
those foolish days when our simple hearts were full of truth,
and faith, and reverence!
Ah, those foolish days of noble longings and of noble strivings!

And oh, these wise,
clever days when we know that money is the only prize worth striving for,
when we believe in nothing else but meanness and lies,
when we care for no living creature but ourselves! "

One thing to be learned from all this... friendship, relatives, love and religion are all but mind wraps to create the illusion that you are not..

And finally, Asheem (its one year now...)... Have heard Kandisa atleast 20-30 times, in that last 2 days...
